Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
Support the lives of untrained artists (painters) who survived together from childhood in the streets of Nairobi, Kenya to the slum of Mukuru. Now, working to empower their community, the Art Boyz create "landmarks" in the form of wall mosaics that serve as central places to gather, share critical news, sell goods, and provide access to NGO's that wish to provide services.
In addition, there's ART FOR SALE!

Our Story
After Kenya gained independence from British rule in 1963, our ancestors migrated from rural areas to the urban city - Nairobi. With no jobs and little money saved, our grandparents set up temporary shelter near the industrial area. A city dumpsite and the Ngong River are nearby, making it convenient for Industry to dump waste. Our grandparents named the informal living area "Mukuru", which means "Dumpsite."
Mukuru has grown to 825,000 residents. Space comes at a premium. In 2019 when COVID-19 hit, the community had no place to meet for news, hand washing, or getting PPE from other NGOs. The Art Boyz decided to create Landmark mosaics on Walls throughout the slum. Anyone can meet there for empowerment. We even celebrate birthdays there and invite the Chief to share important news with the community. Some people set up micro-businesses at any of the 45 landmark mosaics in Mukuru Slum. Your donations help us maintain the landmarks. We also create Art for Sale (below)
